Embark on a diving adventure in the Maldives, among mythical atolls, passes rich in pelagics, and diving cruises in the heart of the Indian Ocean.
Several million years ago, the Maldives formed a volcanic chain now submerged beneath the Indian Ocean. Coral reefs developed on the flanks of the volcanoes, continuing their growth as the emerged structures subsided. From this evolution were born the atolls, these characteristic rings derived from the Maldivian term atoḷu, which structure the archipelago today.
During your diving stay in the Maldives, you evolve in water between 27 and 30°C year-round. Protected lagoons alternate with passes subject to currents and outer drop-offs where visibility is often consistent. This configuration favors diving in the Indian Ocean rich in tropical fish and pelagic species.
Aboard the diving boat Théia, you set off on a diving cruise to the Maldives to discover several atolls. Navigation takes place between white sand beaches, turquoise lagoons and outer reefs accessible depending on conditions. Each dive is preceded by a precise briefing by your diving guide, adapted to the site and the level of the group.
The dives allow you to observe manta rays, green turtles and, depending on the season, whale sharks. Coral plateaus and pass zones often concentrate marine life, while drift dives follow the coral reef at the pace of the current. Between two dives, you can practice snorkeling in calm, shallow lagoons.

A mythical archipelago of coral islands set in the heart of the Indian Ocean. In the Maldives, turquoise water, white sand beaches and isolated atolls create a unique paradise landscape unlike any other in the world. Between diving cruises and exclusive stays, the journey promises a total immersion in an exceptional natural world.
One of the world's most beautiful diving destinations. Healthy coral reefs, drop-offs, deep marine channels and spectacular marine life — manta rays, sharks, turtles, rays and tropical fish — make the Maldives an unparalleled underwater playground. Accessible to all levels, diving there is intense and varied.
Diving in the Maldives can be practiced year-round. Nevertheless, the best conditions are generally encountered between October and April with warm water, excellent visibility (20–30 m) and stable weather. Certain periods offer exceptional seasonal marine encounters.
Organizing a diving adventure to the Maldives is done essentially via liveaboards. DUNE offers a range of itineraries suited to different objectives: discovery of the central atolls, exploration of the south, pelagic encounters or a complete week-long to ten-night navigation journey.
