White-tipped Reef Shark

The white tip reef shark is one of the most commonly encountered reef sharks in the Indo-Pacific tropical waters. Recognizable by the characteristic white tips on its dorsal and caudal fins, it is curious and relatively harmless to divers. Active mainly at night, it rests in caves and coral overhangs during the day. In the Red Sea, Maldives, and Galapagos, DUNE offers numerous opportunities to observe these sharks in their natural environment.
