European conger

The European conger, with its serpentine body that can reach 2.7 meters, is one of the large predators of the Mediterranean rocky bottoms. Nocturnal, it spends the day hidden in rock crevices or wrecks, leaving only its characteristic head with tubular nostrils protruding. In the calanques of Marseille, the wrecks of Malta, and the coves of Menorca, DUNE organizes night dives to observe this animal while it hunts — a rare and fascinating spectacle.
